Vintage brass engineer's small transit theodolite, MDS London with original case Inscribed in the base is MDS ltd London It's a model L15 Mark II, ser no.1587 The theodolite is painted dark green by the manufacturer and is solid brass. The green and gold look good together but it could be brought back to solid brass with time and effort. It appears complete, it has its original wooden case and it is from the estate of a retired chief engineer.
