Harron NYC 1844-65 Two Iron 1-1/4" Nosing Plane INV#BD06 This a good example of a 19th Century Double Iron Nosing Plane. This plane I will call "Linus the pig pen" because whoever owned this plane did not care that he got it dirty or spattered with paint. (I guess making a living was way more important to him in those days) Ok, I get it!! This plane would clean up nicely, I will leave that up to you. All I did was wipe it down. NOTE: The toe has a curved profile while the heel looks like it has been reconfigured ???.(see photos) This plane measures approx., 9-1/2" L x 2-1/8" W. On toe it has"Owasco NY & owner initials J.D.V (3 times) On heel has J.D.V.(3 times) and the numbers 318 & 1-1/4". (see photos).Wedges are nicely made, but each have a crack (see close up). Cutters measures approx 7-3/8 & 7-1/4" L x 1" W. Cutters have typical minor pitting and rust but would clean up nicely. I always suggest a good honing to get it back to optimal use. (see photos). Plane has a great feel and patina... It would be a great user and nice addition to your collection. This was just purchased from an estate from a person who's grandfather was a woodworker (please visit my store as I am listing many more wonderful planes and tools from this estate).
