This kit may have been used, but I was able to get the box with all of the packaging materials. The cables may have not been used. The kit includes all the parts show in the photos: the electronics box, remote (the remote IS used and as is typical, the battery cover is loose), HDMI cable, component video cables, standard AV cables and a power supply. I'm fairly certain that this is a complete kit although from my research, the remote may come separately. I've put one in as a I have a bunch since I will grab orphan remotes I find at estate sales. I don't have DirecTV so I can't test these and don't know if it requires activation before use. This kit is being sold as-is. If it's DOA, let me know. It did power up for me.
