Just call or send me a quick email, see the last picture here for information on mod services (business card). It has been said “The XT-2 is a love or hate type of distortion pedal. It's got a very hard edged distortion that sounds a bit different from other Boss distortion pedals.” With help from Brian Wampler, we made this one a love type pedal. This mod makes the highs sound better, not as harsh. The mod also tames the nasally mids, makes the pedal much fuller and richer. The clipping on this pedal is more complex now, and adds dynamics and better responsiveness. And yes, we swapped out the LED for a water/clear blue LED. The LED is clear when switched off, and a very noticeable blue when switched on. This is a review from ultimateGuitar.com, but this guy is referring to the pedal before the mods: Ease of Use: The pedal has 4 knobs that give a good variety of sounds. Adjusting the "Contour" knob can give you a blues/rock and roll sound or a metal sound. The manual is good. Short and sweet, and even give's you visual instructions to get sounds like rhythm, slash metal, '70s rock and compressed wah I think. Sound: I use a Jackson DK2T Dinky Pro series through this and just a crap practice amp but I have played it though a Fender FM100H combo and Line 6 100 watt Spider and they all sound great. I give it a 9 because of its flexibility. You can get great blues sounds and then with a turn of the knob having a metal sound. It also has no noise whatsoever. When you aren't playing anything it's dead silent. Reliability & Durability: This thing could be run over a truck and still be ok! Like all Boss products it's solid, durable and reliable. I would definitely play a gig without a backup with no worries. This thing will live forever! It's very reliable and the battery last for a long time. It's definitely a great distortion pedal. Overall Impression: I play hard rock / metal (things like Rage against the Machine, Audioslave, Metallica, Faith No More) and it gives me a great range of distortions for all these styles. I went down to the music store and tried all of their distortion pedals and I thought this one was the best. It's a very flexible pedal and I wouldn't have chosen any other. "We make your sound...sound good!" Thanks for looking, and keep rockin! Mike *See all of our modified pedals and mod services at our eBay store!
