The focusing wheels lift and lower the stand but are very stiff, suggesting the mechanism would benefit from cleaning and re-greasing. All objectives and eyepieces were tested using a sample slide and produced clear images. The camera system fires, rewinds, and responds correctly to controls on the HFX-II, including the handheld switch and timer.
