You are looking at a very unique and harder to find 1960's / 70's era Astatic 810 model dynamic cardioid microphone with excellent sound quality and was a dual Z / impedance microphone with a smooth, warm tone. This mic has excellent uni-directional properties as well. Excellent for broadcasting and singing purposes. It comes with the original microphone clip, data sheet, 810 case and mic cable shown. Pic # 2 shows the 810 series model mic along with it's basic characteristics as well as High & Low Z frequency response. The cable provided currently has the 1/4 inch end connector for audio equipment with a high Z input. You can always use an XLR end connector on the cable id you want a Low Z setting. I have only come across a handful of these 810 model mics and they looks almost identical to the Astatic 813. Basically a clone of the 985 model. The 810 model comes with a nice satin chrome finish on the handle however where the 985 came with the sage green painted finish. All these model mics incorporated the same dynamic cardioid element and again, they sound very nice. This 810 is similar to the common stick mics you see today but still incorporates an old school flair and looks very similar to the classic Shure 545 model mic of that era. It has a very aggressive look. The output is strong and will not disappoint. This is one of my personal favorite looking and sounding Astatic mics and you just never see these around. Especially not as nice of condition as this example as it's basically flawless. This 810 model mic has the unique 4 pin XLR attachment so you need the specific 4 pin XLR cable to operate. The 810 is a lite weight rugged mic that was built to last. American made. As you can see in the pics provided the mic is in perfect physical condition and shows no wear. The satin chrome handle shows no wear. The black plastic up front looks great with zero fractures or scuff marks. The chrome mesh screen is free of dents, odors or tarnish. No installed a new pop filter was needed. You'll really appreciate the sound on this old mic. A new exterior pop filter would help even more if you feel you need one. The 810 comes with a nice original plastic / metal mic clip that grips the mic well and allows you to get just the right amount of tilt needed once the mic is mounted to the stand. The clip is in perfect condition and will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have. Mic comes with the original 4 pin XLR cable which is included. It's soft, pliable and 20 feet in length giving you more than enough room to work with. It has the standard male 1/4 inch end connector so this can be used with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers. There is almost no physical wear on the cable and works excellent. The original data sheet has a ton of technical info on this mic and really comes in handy. It's in great physical shape as well. If you want something eccentric with excellent sound quality the 810 is a great choice and you just won't find a better example.
