We offer a lovely vintage folk art Peruvian gourd (mates burilados) which is a 4,000 year-old traditional handicraft featuring intricate, hand-carved, and pyro-engraved designs, primarily created in the Andean highlands. These dried, wooden-textured gourds depict scenes of daily life, myths, and celebrations, often used as decorative art or functional containers. Our decorative gourd measures approximately 5" in diameter x 3" tall. It has been lightly buffed with African shea butter, and is in excellent previously owned condition. When shook, it rattles! What a fascinating conversation piece to own or gift! Thank you for looking.
